Start of Fall Hours Next Week

In honor of Labor Day, the Winneconne Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 1st.

We will also be switching to our Fall Hours on Tuesday, September 2nd. 

Hours are as follows:

Mon., Tues., Weds., Fri.:  10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Thurs:  10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Sat.:  10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Winneconne Public Library's Wizard of Oz Cast Party Featured in School Library Journal

Winneconne Public Library is featured in a national publication - School Library Journal!!! Children's Librarian Amanda O'Neal took part in an online class called "Programming on a Shoestring," taught by Marge Loch-Wouters (of the La Crosse Public Library). For one of the assignments, she submitted an article about the Wizard of Oz Cast Party that we hosted here at the Winneconne Public Library in March (see the link below for Amanda's article:)

Join Club Winston! A Junior Friends of the Library Club for 1st-8th Graders

Calling all First through Eighth Graders!  

Become a member of Club Winston, a new Junior Friends of the Library Club!  Club Winston is for children in First through Eighth Grade and members will sell lemonade and locally-popped Kornucopia Popcorn to earn money for the club. Proceeds from the lemonade stand and popcorn sales will be divided up in a Spend~Save~Give format, so kids will learn how to manage their money and how to give back to their community.

Introducing "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" Early Literacy Initiative

Our Children's Librarian Amanda O'Neal will be introducing "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" Reading Incentive Program at Child Development Days and Kindergarten Registration, on Jan 21-23.  

It is an exciting program and one that provides fun incentives for young children, all the while giving them a head start on their academic career!
